The captain knows that to feel super strong, it is important to make healthy food choices and to exercise.

You can walk, run, or play a sport to exercise. To get exercise, you just need to get going and move your body.

Making healthy food choices is not as easy to figure out . . . or to do! There are many foods, and you need to pay attention to your choices daily, starting with breakfast.

Lucky for you, if you are reading this, you are already paying attention!

Healthy food choices include fruit, such as Florida citrus, vegetables, and whole grains.



What else?

Fat-free milk products and low-fat meat, poultry, and fish can be healthy. Poultry is meat from chickens and similar birds.

Beans, eggs, and nuts can also be healthy choices.

To enjoy good nutrition, you need to eat healthy foods that give you the right amount of energy. Make food choices that can give you many health benefits–like Florida orange juice!

Also, pay attention to how much of each food you eat. The National Institutes of Health says that foods can be divided into three lists:

1. Go Foods “Go foods” are the super healthy foods you can eat almost any time.
Examples include oranges, oatmeal, grapefruit, tangerines, and fat-free yogurt.
2. Slow Foods “Slow foods” are foods that you eat sometimes or less often.
Examples include waffles and dry fruit.
3. Whoa Foods “Whoa foods” are the kind you should eat only once in a while, if at all.
Examples include doughnuts and sausages.
